Installation

How Your New Windows Get Installed

Our installation team uses three field-proven methods. The right one depends on your wall type, existing window frames, and trim condition.

Brick-to-Brick Window Replacement

Brick-to-Brick Installation

The whole window unit is removed down to the rough brick opening. New windows are fitted against the masonry, foam-sealed, and finished with fresh exterior trim and brickmould.

Stud-to-Stud Window Installation

Stud-to-Stud Installation

Used in homes with siding, the old window and frame are stripped back to the wood studs. This gives a true full-frame replacement window installation with new flashing and insulation.

Retrofit Window Replacement

Retrofit Window Replacement

Retrofit window replacement keeps the existing window frame in place. We remove only the sashes and insert new vinyl replacement windows into the original opening — fast, clean, and cost-effective.

Configuration

Additional Options to Personalise Your Windows

Custom windows let you fine-tune privacy, light, and style
without leaving our standard line.

Privacy Glass

Frosted, etched, or obscure glass panes for bathrooms and entryways let natural daylight flow freely into the space while keeping sightlines completely private from the outside, making them a practical and elegant solution for any room where light and privacy matter equally.

Interior Grilles

Decorative grilles sit permanently between the panes, creating classic colonial, prairie, or fully custom divided-light patterns that enhance the look of your windows from both inside and out, without adding any extra surfaces to clean or compromising the thermal efficiency of the unit.

Rosette Options

Carved corner blocks for interior trim bring a traditional, polished, and architecturally finished look to the wood casing installed around your new windows, adding a period-appropriate detail that elevates the entire room without requiring complex mitered joinery at the corners.

Exterior Grilles

Surface-mounted grilles applied directly to the outer glass pane create a deeper shadow line and a more authentic divided-light appearance when viewed from the street, giving the home a classic character and curb appeal that interior or between-glass grilles alone cannot fully replicate.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know to start your project.

How to Measure Windows for Replacement

Measure the width and height of the opening in three spots each, then record the smallest figure. For an accurate quote and a smooth window installation process, book a free estimate and our team will measure on site.

What Is the Average Cost of Replacement Windows

Most Toronto homeowners spend between $500 and $1,500 per window installed, depending on style, size, and glass package. Stock windows cost less than custom orders, and triple glazing adds roughly 20–30% over double-pane energy efficient ones.

Can Replacement Windows Be Deducted on Taxes

In Canada, ENERGY STAR certified windows may qualify under federal or provincial rebate programs rather than direct tax deductions. Programs change yearly, so check current Canada Greener Homes incentives before starting your door replacement project to save money.

Can Windows Be Repaired Instead of Replaced

Minor seal failures, broken hardware, or sticky cranks can often be repaired. But drafty windows with rotted frames, foggy glass, or persistent air leaks usually need full replacement — repairs rarely restore proper energy efficiency ratings or comfort in cold weather.

Does Home Insurance Cover Windows Replacement

Home insurance covers windows damaged by sudden events like storms, vandalism, or accidents. It does not cover wear, age, or upgrades. To replace windows for efficiency reasons, you’ll pay out of pocket — ask about financing options instead.

What Are the Best Replacement Windows

The best window depends on your room and goals. Casement windows offer maximum ventilation and tight seals, while triple-pane fixed units give top efficiency. Choosing replacement windows from the right window company with positive customer reviews matters more than any single brand.
